Our Mission

The Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to encourage excellence and to enhance and enrich educational opportunities offered to the students of the Hatboro-Horsham School District.

Our Foundation is a volunteer organization working in partnership with the Hatboro-Horsham School Board, administration, faculty, staff, and students as we design and implement programs enhancing the HHSD curriculum and our students’ lives.

Since 1987, the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation (HHEF) has proudly been enhancing the learning experience of Hatboro-Horsham students. The HHEF has had a direct impact on thousands of students by awarding more than 300 Innovative Learning Grants totaling more than one million dollars to Hatboro-Horsham teachers and principals.

History

HHEF History

Established by a group of business people and educators in 1987, the Hatboro-Horsham Educational Foundation is the oldest educational foundation affiliated with a school district in Pennsylvania.

The founding vision championed two ideas: providing programs that add value to the community from a cultural perspective, and providing funding through a granting process to teachers and principals for innovative educational projects for the benefit of the students in the Hatboro-Horsham School District.

Since 1987, the HHEF has brought many notable figures to the Hatboro-Horsham community, such as former First Lady, Barbara Bush; foreign correspondent, Andrea Mitchell; doctor, activist and clown, Dr. Patch Adams; underwater explorer, Dr. Robert Ballard; and political pundits Mary Matalin and James Carville. Nearly every public event is accompanied by an opportunity for Hatboro-Horsham students to experience the event in one of the district schools, allowing for direct exposure to those the HHEF most want to impact.

With student enrichment as its primary goal, the HHEF, since its inception, has awarded more than one million dollars in Innovative Learning Grants to teachers and principals for projects that enrich the district’s curriculum and public education. The HHEF values and depends upon the combined total support of all aspects of our community members. Thank you in advance to those of you who have become or are considering becoming a supporter of the HHEF in some way.
